Blodgett Ovens announces the opening of an additional facility in Essex, Vermont, to build proprietary steam equipment under the Market Forge brand for the commercial foodservice industry. Blodgett purchased the assets of Market Forge Industries on January 7th, 2014, and has moved all of the production, sales, and engineering from Everett, MA to 19 Thompson Dr., formally known as the Huber-Suhner property.

Gary Mick, Blodgett’s President, said “Blodgett is pleased to acquire Market Forge, and to be moving the operation to Vermont. We could not have accomplished this move without the support of Doug Nedde of Nedde Real Estate, who helped to ensure a smooth transition, and the assistance of Frank Cioffi of the Greater Burlington Industrial Council (GBIC), as well as the folks at The Vermont Economic Progress Council (VEPC), and the Town of Essex. Most importantly, while we recognize Vermont is a high-cost state in which to do business, our Blodgett employees make this move possible.”

“What excites us most about the move, is that we are combining two great brands. Both companies are well over 100 years old and they exemplify American manufacturing at its best – products built by people who care about every detail. What Blodgett brings to Market Forge are service and support teams known throughout the foodservice industry as some of the best.”
